David Bednar Closes Out Yankees Victory Over Athletics
NEW YORK — On April 7, 2026, David Bednar recorded his fifth save with a perfect ninth inning to secure a 5-3 win over the Oakland Athletics.
Amed Rosario hit two home runs, including the go-ahead three-run blast in the eighth. Bednar’s strong closing performance helped the Yankees improve to 8-2.
The victory demonstrated excellent late-inning execution early in the season.
This result reinforced the bullpen’s reliability in April.
